The North Bay Foot & Ankle Clinic is available to treat foot and ankle ailments such as ingrown toenails, orthotics, mobilization, fungal toenails, and several other foot conditions including routine care.

Ingrown Toenails
Ingrown toenails occur when the corners or sides of the toenail dig into the skin. Some ingrown toenails can become red, swollen, or infected. Nail Braces can be applied to the nail to help correct the way the nail is growing and relieve discomfort. Reoccurring ingrown toenails can be treated by surgically removing the offending piece.

Orthotics
Foot orthotics are custom prescribed insoles that are designed to improve your lower body movement and function. There is strong evidence to support their effectiveness on re-distributing abnormal forces of your feet, which have been found highly related to different foot pathologies, such as heel spur, shin splints. Orthoses are particularly helpful if you are on your feet for long hours as they help to support your arches, improve foot posture, and can help to minimize deterioration of some arthritic conditions in the foot, ankle, and knee.

Fungal Toenails
Fungal infection of the toenail, also known as onychomycosis is one of the most common dermatologic disorders affecting the foot. This results in thickening, yellow-brown discoloration, splitting, crumbling as well as lifting of the nails away from the nail bed. If left untreated, the nail infection can spread to the skin as well as other nails with subsequent nail dystrophy. One form of treatment offered at The North Bay Foot & Ankle Clinic is ToeFx.

G-Pulse
The G-Pulse machine is used to increase blood supply and oxygen to the body by using a pulsating Magnetic field therapy and magnetic bio stimulation and IR laser light beams. When using the combination of magnetic stimulation and laser it is great for diabetic neuropathy, wound healing, lymphedema, acute and chronic inflammation.
